Julia Reinach

General Project Coordinator and Executive Assistant to the Director

Julia Reinach is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in History and Sociology. While at the University of Michigan, she served as an undergraduate research lead for the Carceral State Project, with specific emphasis on the Confronting Conditions of Confinement team. On this team, she researched prison uprisings and prison resistance across the state of Michigan. Additionally, she worked as a research assistant for the University of Michigan’s Policing and Social Justice HistoryLab, which tracked incidents of police brutality, police misconduct, and wrongful convictions across the state of Michigan from the years 1994 – 2014. In addition to her role as General Project Coordinator and Executive Assistant to the Director, Julia also continues to work as Program Associate at the Douglass Project, a nonprofit designed to change the public’s perception of the criminal justice system by becoming proximate with the humanity of incarcerated people.
