Prisons and Justice Initiative Featured in the Washington Post
The Washington Post Sunday Magazine recently featured the work of the Prisons and Justice Initiative as the cover story of its September 11, 2016 issue . The article focuses on an “inside-outside” class called ”Prison Reform Project, “ taught in the Spring 2016 semester by PJI Director Marc Howard, which brought together 15 Georgetown students with 16 incarcerated students from the Jessup Correctional Institution. They all worked side-by-side on multi-media criminal justice and prison reform proposals that were presented to several hundred people (including family members of the incarcerated students) at a public event, called “37th and Jessup: Classmates Divided by Bars, United for Justice, ” held at Georgetown in April.
