Virginia Hill
Director of Operations
In her role as Director of Operations, Virginia is responsible for liaising between Georgetown departments and managing all operations, budget and financial administration, and program administration. Prior to joining PJI, Virginia spent the previous eight years working and volunteering in the policy and advocacy space focusing on criminal justice reform. Virginia worked in the Nebraska State Legislature as the Policy and Research Associate for Senator Ernie Chambers, the longest serving state senator in Nebraska’s history. Her research efforts led to the passage of LB 924, a bill requiring police departments to conduct annual implicit bias training. In addition to her legislative work, Virginia chaired a policy subcommittee, Hold Cops Accountable, where she made policy recommendations around use of force that were adopted by the Lincoln Police Department.
Virginia earned her master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska, focusing her research on reparations and racial disparities in wealth, education and zoning laws. She also received two bachelor’s degrees in Law, Politics, and Society and in English from Drake University. She was a top performing track and field athlete for Drake University and the University of Nebraska in the 400-meter hurdles. In her free time, Virginia enjoys nature walks, weight lifting, and eating sweets.
