Gregory M. Bowyer, Jr. 

Community Resource Manager

Gregory M. Bowyer, Jr. has joined the Georgetown University Prisons and Justice Initiative (PJI) as Community Resource Manager. In this role, he supports programs across PJI, while focusing on developing and coordinating critical systems and services for individuals under supervision with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. 

Bowyer is a Doctoral Scholar in the Doctor of Liberal Studies (D.L.S.) program at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. He holds a Master of Human Services and a Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice. With more than 25 years of experience in public safety and academia, he designs cross-sector, evidence-based strategies that empower justice-impacted individuals and communities, strengthen service organizations, and promote institutional and systemic change.

Recognized as a transformative force-multiplier, Bowyer is a compassionate and effective leader who believes deeply in restorative justice, the power of redemption, and the reformation of corrections. Guided by the belief that “man is ultimately good,” he maintains that with the right support, education, and resources, individuals can be restored and become valuable contributors to the global community.

Drawing on his lived experience, Bowyer brings hope, healing, and humanity to justice-impacted individuals, their families, and the communities they call home.
