Arlando “Tray” Jones III

Program Associate

Arlando “Tray” Jones III is a Program Associate at PJI, where he supports program administration, reentry, and communications. Tray was wrongfully convicted at 16 years old and served 37 years, two months, and a day in prison before being released in July 2022. Tray was a student, collaborator, and frequent guest speaker in Georgetown classes on criminal justice, and he was the center of a 2021 Making an Exoneree investigation and documentary. Tray is passionate about philosophy, holding a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Coppin State University. He has published two autobiographical books, “Old Too Fast, Smart Too Late,” and “Eager Street.” He understands first hand how vital it is to serve the wrongfully convicted and unjustly treated in prison, and his personal experience in the criminal legal system gives him a unique perspective and talent to contribute to PJI.
