Darryl Byers-Robinson is a dedicated advocate for education accessibility and criminal justice reform, serving as the Patuxent Site Coordinator at Georgetown University’s Prisons and Justice Initiative. With firsthand experience and extensive institutional expertise, he is committed to expanding educational opportunities for incarcerated individuals, recognizing education as a vital tool for personal and societal advancement. As a distinguished speaker, he addresses critical issues including prison education, juvenile justice, reentry, and faith-based rehabilitation. Mr. Byers-Robinson earned a Liberal Arts degree from Bard College through the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI) and co-founded the debate team that achieved national recognition following its victory over Harvard University. Since his release, he has assumed leadership roles in education, youth development, and ministry, advising institutions on prison education programs and leading statewide initiatives to enhance access to higher education for incarcerated individuals. Through his continued efforts, he remains steadfast in his commitment to fostering transformative opportunities for those affected by the justice system.
