Returning Writers (RW) and Book Club Bridge (BCB) are grassroots reentry programs. Both aim to form community through narrative. RW and BCB welcome returning citizens (people who have been released after a period of incarceration) as well as other interested community members. RW is a co-ed writing workshop that meets every few weeks at The Potter's House, in Adams Morgan. BCB is a book club for women that meets every month at a shelter called New Endeavors By Women. RW and BCB were both founded and organized by Prisons and Justice Initiative RA Liza Schalch, a teacher and English M.A. student at Georgetown. More details to come.
