Fall 2018 End-of-Semester Celebration!

The Prisons and Justice Initiative recently celebrated the successful conclusion of another semester of the Scholars Program at the DC Jail. The Fall 2018 semester included—for the first time ever at Georgetown—two credit-bearing classes for our incarcerated students (in addition to eight non-credit classes). It is also the country’s only coeducational prison education program.

With more support, we hope to expand our course offerings, enroll more students, and eventually provide Georgetown degrees. The video includes special footage from the end-of-semester celebration held on December 19, 2018, along with interviews with Incarcerated Scholars Mustafa Zulu, Momolu Stewart, and Halim Flowers. Thank you for sharing this video within your networks.
